ClockLink Instructions

The following instructions walk you through importing punches into TimeForce using the ClockLink utility.

  1. From the Windows Start Menu, go to Programs | TimeForce and click on "ClockLink." The main "ClockLink for TimeForce" screen opens.

  2. If the Remember Me option is not enabled, enter your login information and click on the icon.

  3. From the row of drop-down menus at the top of the screen, click on "File" and select Import Punches.

  4. In the File Name field, select the punch packet that you would like to import into TimeForce. This file can be selected either by putting your cursor in the field and manually typing the appropriate path and file name, or by clicking on the icon and browsing to the desired punch packet file.
    Note:
When using the "Browse" option you must change the selection in the Files of type field from "Raw IQ1000 Files" to "Phone Logs."

  5. The Options drop-down menu contains the following options:

    • Send to TimeForce Immediately: With this option selected, the imported punches will be sent to the TimeForce database immediately after the import has completed.

    • Send to TimeForce Later: With this option selected, the punch data will be imported into ClockLink, but will not be sent to the TimeForce database.

  6. Click on the icon. The punches are imported from the packet file and sent to the TimeForce database (depending on your selection for step #5).

Sending Data to TimeForce

When the "Send to TimeForce Later" option is selected during a punch import, the imported data is added to the Downloads Needing To Be Sent section of the main ClockLink screen. This section appears directly below the displayed list of time clocks on the left-hand side of the screen.

The packet is displayed with the file name it was given when downloaded. For example, if you named the punch packet "PhonePunches1.csv" when downloading it from Phone Nexus, "PHONEPUNCHES1" appears in the Downloads Needing To Be Sent section of the screen.

If you are using physical time clocks, this data will be automatically sent to TimeForce the next time a clock is downloaded and it's data is sent. You can also manually send the packet to TimeForce by double-clicking on the packet in the list. If there is more than one packet awaiting upload to TimeForce, clicking on the Downloads Needing To Be Sent header will send all stored data to the TimeForce database.
